Permission given in theory and permission inhabited in practice are two completely different things. The first is a decision. The second is what you do with the decision. And the distance between them is larger than most people expect.

A plan that only works when everything is going well isn't a plan. It's a best-case scenario. Real life includes grief, illness, children who need more than expected, the kind of exhaustion that isn't solved by sleep.
